AI Engineering Intern - IT at Rialto Capital in Miami, FL

Summary: Rialto Capital is an integrated real estate investment management and asset management platform, and they are seeking an AI Engineering Intern to join their Information Engineering team. This role focuses on building integrations that connect Rialto's enterprise platforms and databases to AI assistants, enabling investment professionals to interact with critical business data through natural language. Responsibilities: - Design, build, and maintain Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers that expose Rialto’s enterprise data sources to AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini - Build connectors and APIs that bridge Rialto’s diverse data ecosystem, including relational databases, data warehouses, knowledge graphs, and SaaS platforms, so that AI tools can securely query and surface business-critical information - Help define the data schemas, tool definitions, and resource descriptions that MCP servers expose to AI models, ensuring data is structured for accurate and useful AI-driven responses - Rapidly prototype new MCP integrations, test them against real business workflows, and iterate based on feedback from investment management, asset management, and operations teams - Work alongside the Information Engineering team, data engineers, and business users across Investment Management, Asset Management, Legal, Finance, and Operations to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver AI-powered data access solutions Required Qualifications: - Current Juniors and Seniors: 6 month co-op internship preferred or 10 week standard internship program - Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript - Familiarity with server-side frameworks (FastAPI, Express, or similar) for building APIs and services - Experience using AI coding agents such as Claude Code or Codex to accelerate development is a strong plus - Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON-RPC, or similar protocols - Understanding of the Model Context Protocol (MCP) specification is a strong plus - Experience with frontend frameworks (React) is helpful but not required - Basic understanding of cloud platforms (Azure preferred), containerization (Docker), and CI/CD pipelines - Exposure to serverless or container-based deployment patterns is a plus - Working knowledge of SQL and experience querying relational databases or data warehouses - Exposure to graph databases (Neo4j/Cypher) or cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Azure Fabric) is a plus - Version control (Git) required - Demonstrated curiosity about or experience with Large Language Models, prompt engineering, AI tool integration, or chatbot development - Hands-on experience with Claude, ChatGPT, or similar AI platforms is a strong plus - Exhibits precision when building integrations, writing data schemas, and testing AI-powered workflows against real business scenarios - Enjoys working in a cross-functional environment and learning from senior engineers - Embraces new challenges in a fast-evolving AI landscape, proposing creative solutions and improvements - Approaches tasks with energy, resilience, and a desire to learn Preferred Qualifications: - Strong Interest in Real Estate & Alternative Investments (Preferred): Not required, but helpful for understanding the business context of AI solutions at Rialto Required Skills: Python, API Development, Data Integration Important Skills: SQL, Cloud Platforms, Large Language Models
