The Data & Reporting Intern will support the design, development, and maintenance of data analysis and reporting services across the organization. Working under the guidance of senior IT staff and Business users, the intern will assist in producing reports, dashboards, and data extracts that support operational teams and management decision‑making.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Data Analysis & Reporting Support
- Assist in developing and updating standard reports, dashboards, and data extracts.
- Support ad hoc data analysis requests from internal stakeholders.
- Validate report outputs by checking data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
- Help document report logic, data sources, and business definitions.
Data Management & Quality
- Assist in maintaining data definitions, metadata, and reference documentation.
- Perform basic data quality checks and flag anomalies or inconsistencies.
- Support reconciliation activities between source systems and reports.
- Follow established data governance and change control procedures.
Operational & Technical Support
- Work with senior analysts to test new or amended reports before release.
- Support scheduled report refresh processes and investigate basic failures.
- Assist with version control and documentation of reporting assets.
- Learn and apply best practice use of reporting and BI tools.
Collaboration & Learning
- Engage with business users to understand reporting requirements.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to documentation and process improvement.
- Develop proficiency in SQL, reporting tools, and data visualization techniques.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- University degree or a keen interest in a relevant field such data science or statistics.
- 1 -2 years experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Ability to conduct research into data management issues, practices, and products as required.
- Exposure to SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Excel, or similar tools.
- Basic understanding of databases, data structures, or spreadsheets.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Coursework or projects involving data analysis or reporting.
- Understanding of data governance or privacy concepts.
- Interest in financial services or technology roles.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
