Staff Accountant at Relativity Space in Long Beach, CA

Summary: Relativity Space is pioneering advancements in rocket technology to meet the growing demand for launch capacity. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for preparing general ledger journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements, while collaborating with various teams to enhance financial integrity and support growth. Responsibilities: - Prepare general ledger journal entries for month-end close - Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, including identifying and resolving variances - Prepare explanations for monthly flux analyses - Assist in preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements - Assist in year-end audit by providing external auditors with supporting documentation - Assist in developing internal process improvements, including documenting processes Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance - 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience from public accounting or private industry sectors (both a plus!) - Strong understanding and knowledge of US GAAP - Advanced Excel skills (V-Lookups, Pivot Tables, etc.) - Ability to prioritize and multitask to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications: - Big 4 / regional firm audit / assurance experience (strongly preferred) - Certified Public Accounting (CPA), active or inactive - Hands-on experience in the financial close process - Fast-growing start-ups and/or manufacturing industry experience Required Skills: General ledger journal entries, Balance sheet reconciliations, Monthly flux analyses, Financial statements preparation, Year-end audit support, Internal process documentation, US GAAP, Excel, V-Lookups, Pivot Tables Benefits: Competitive salary and equity, Generous PTO and sick leave policy, Parental leave, Annual learning and development stipend
