Technical Analyst – Transit (TransHelp)
Status: 1 Regular Full Time Position
Salary Range: $81,977 to $102,471 per annum plus benefits
Hiring Range: $81,977 to $92,224 per annum plus benefits

Hours of work: 35 hours per week
The Role:
Reporting to the Supervisor, Client Services, the Technical Analyst supports TransHelp transit scheduling by analyzing trip data, preparing schedules, and helping ensure services are delivered efficiently within budget. This role assists with transit scheduling planning, vehicle coordination, reporting, and operational improvements to support effective service delivery for clients.
The Technical Analyst also responds to internal and external information requests, supports the development of operational procedures, and contributes to the ongoing improvement of transit scheduling practices.
What you will do in this role:
- Collect, compile, and analyze historical trip data to identify trends, improve scheduling efficiency, and forecast future trip and budget requirements.
- Support the Transit Scheduling team in preparing schedules and operator work for service changes, special events, holidays, planned detours, and service closures.
- Review and evaluate operational and administrative processes to identify opportunities for improvement and increased efficiency.
- Assist in the development and administration of capital and operating budgets related to internal and external trip services.
- Research and respond to internal and external requests for information, including preparing detailed and specialized reports.
- Work closely with the Supervisor to provide technical guidance, advice, and training to internal staff and external vendors.
- Act as a subject matter expert in transit service scheduling, providing technical advice for Transit programs, projects, and services within the work unit.
- Participate in special projects, including researching new or emerging technologies that support scheduling efficiencies, reduce deadheading, and improve front‑line operations.
- Promote and demonstrate teamwork, respect, service excellence, and professionalism within the team.
What the role requires:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- University degree or three‑year college diploma, plus 2–3 years of relevant experience, preferably in Para‑Transit scheduling, or the automotive or heavy equipment fleet industry
- An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Demonstrated knowledge of corporate policies, procedures, and relevant legislation (e.g., Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS, Highway Traffic Act).
- Ability to consider peak travel periods, holidays, special events, and construction impacts when planning routes, with a focus on time and cost efficiency.
- Strong understanding of multimodal transportation principles, including transit planning and mapping.
- Advanced experience with Trapeze transit scheduling software is considered an asset.
- A satisfactory Level 1 Criminal Record Check obtained directly from a police station (third-party background checks will not be accepted)

Work Mode & Job Location: In this role, you’ll benefit from the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement that prioritizes meaningful in-person connection. A minimum of two days per week on-site is expected along with occasional travel to attend site inspections or meetings at Regional facilities or as operational needs evolve. This arrangement allows for a blend of in person and hybrid work that adapts to support both organizational priorities and employee flexibility and is subject to change over time.
