Mechanical Engineering Intern at Redwood Materials in McCarran, NV

Summary: Redwood Materials is a company focused on localizing a global battery supply chain and driving the energy transition. They are seeking a Mechanical Engineering intern or co-op to support pilot and commercial scale production operations during the Summer 2026 timeline, involving technical design, troubleshooting, and prototype development. Responsibilities: - Leading and supporting technical design and specification of new mechanical processing equipment and manufacturing facilities - Conducting high-level technical troubleshooting of equipment and electromechanical systems - Developing prototypes, research projects, and experiments for new processes Required Qualifications: - Pursuing a B.S. or advanced degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline - Prior engineering internship experience with a leading technology or manufacturing company - Hands-on experience building products or projects in the workshop or lab and living with your own designs in a functional environment - Working knowledge of major mechanical design software packages - Ability to safely perform job duties in both office and production environments - Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. as needed - Must maintain regular and punctual attendance in alignment with company and regulatory standards - Wear proper PPE when necessary - Willingness to contribute at all levels of the organization Preferred Qualifications: - Coursework and/or experience with thermodynamics, gas combustion and chemical processes - Coursework and/or experience with automation and programmable control systems - Highly self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset Required Skills: Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design Software Important Skills: Thermodynamics, Automation Systems Nice-to-Have Skills: Entrepreneurial Mindset
