Summary: Redwood Materials is localizing a global battery supply chain focusing on recovery, reuse, and recycling of critical minerals. They are seeking an Electrochemical Engineering Intern to support research, development, and commercial scale production operations, including laboratory test work and model-driven development. Responsibilities: - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook) - Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines - Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices Required Qualifications: - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook) - Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines - Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices - Ability to perform essential job functions in compliance with ADA, FMLA, and other relevant federal, state, and local regulations, including meeting both qualitative and quantitative productivity standards - Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance in line with ADA, FMLA, and applicable standards - Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety gloves, helmets, and eyewear, or additional PPE when required - Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs - Ability to communicate clearly and effectively on the telephone, including listening and speaking Preferred Qualifications: - Pursuing a B.S. or advanced degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science, electrochemistry, or another discipline with significant relevant coursework - Able to operate independently, conducting experiments in a wet chemistry lab that include hazardous materials and power supplies - Comfortable with spreadsheet-based analysis and modeling - Self-motivated, hands-on mindset, with a willingness to contribute at all levels - A passion for sustainability and making the world a better place!
