Accounting College Intern at Redwood Credit Union in Santa Rosa, CA

Summary: Redwood Credit Union is seeking a motivated Accounting Intern who is currently in their Junior or Senior year in college. This Internship will provide hands-on exposure to core accounting functions, including accounts payable processing, bank and general ledger reconciliations, and month-end close activities. Responsibilities: - Enter and code Accounts Payable invoices - Obtain proper and appropriate approval for Accounts Payable invoices - Assist in the Month End close procedures as assigned - Support monthly General Ledger reconciliation process - Support Bi-Weekly Payroll Process - Support preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly reports - Foster positive relationships with other Redwood Credit Union team members Required Qualifications: - Currently in their Junior or Senior year in college - Basic knowledge of general accounting practices and principles - Basic knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word and MS Outlook - Detail-oriented and able to complete work quickly while maintaining accuracy - Ability to perform data entry, including Accounts Payable invoices - Strong service orientation - Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing - Ability and desire to work in a team-oriented environment - Ability to coordinate a variety of activities simultaneously and prioritize work to meet deadlines - Must be a Junior or Senior in college with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA - Ability to provide a recent transcript will be required during the interview process Preferred Qualifications: - Accounting - Finance - Business Administration/Management Required Skills: General accounting practices, MS Excel, Accounts Payable processing Important Skills: MS Word, MS Outlook Nice-to-Have Skills: service orientation
