Internship Overview
The Financial Planning Internship provides hands-on experience within a financial planning team and offers a strong introduction to the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) career path.
Interns will work alongside financial planners and advisors, gaining exposure to:
- financial plan development
- investment strategy discussions
- financial planning technology platforms
- client meeting preparation and follow-up
- financial research and analysis
This internship is designed to provide real-world experience in the financial planning profession while helping interns develop professional and technical skills used in advisory practices.
Interns will participate in mentorship, observation, project work, and collaborative team initiatives throughout the program.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist financial planners with preparation for client meetings and financial plan reviews
- Support data organization and analysis within financial planning software
- Observe financial planning discussions and client strategy sessions
- Assist with research related to financial planning strategies, investments, and market trends
- Help maintain accurate data within planning and CRM systems
- Support internal projects aimed at improving planning workflows and processes
- Learn and apply the firm’s financial planning philosophy and advisory approach
Qualifications
We are looking for motivated individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in financial planning and advisory services.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Financial Planning, Business, Economics, or a related field
- Rising junior or senior at a four-year institution preferred
- Interest in pursuing the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Interest in financial markets, financial planning, and investment strategies
- Familiarity with financial technology tools is a plus but not required
