Job Description
Summary: Raptor Maps is a fast-growing, venture-backed, MIT-born climate tech company building software to enable the solar energy industry to scale. They are seeking a Software Engineering Intern to join their Engineering team for Summer 2026, offering hands-on experience in production systems that support large-scale solar operations.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy new features in production web applications
- Collaborate with engineers and product partners to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Debug, troubleshoot, and improve application performance and reliability
- Contribute to the training, evaluation and deployment of machine learning models for computer vision applications
- Contribute to the prototyping, implementation, and evaluation of algorithms to process images and 3D data
- Analyze and curate datasets for machine learning and computer vision tasks
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field (rising Seniors and graduate students preferred)
- Coursework or project experience in software development
- Ability to write clear, maintainable code and learn new technologies quickly
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Primarily located in Boston, MA during the internship period
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Python and/or JavaScript (React)
- Exposure to machine learning, robotics, or computer vision through coursework or projects
- Familiarity with web application development, APIs, or data pipelines
- Interest in climate tech, renewable energy, or mission-driven work
