2026 New Graduate - Electrical Engineer at Radiant in El Segundo, CA

Summary: Radiant is an El Segundo, CA-based startup building the world’s first mass-produced, portable nuclear microreactors. They are seeking a highly motivated early career Electrical Engineer to develop new hardware and solve technical challenges in batteries, power systems, and electrical system integration. Responsibilities: - Support the electrical design and ownership of components and subsystems, including: - Sensor and actuator selection and integration - Low- and high-power electrical power distribution systems - Electrical schematics and wiring diagrams - Control panel and enclosure design - Cable and wiring harness design - Assist in the design and setup of test stands for acceptance and qualification testing of components and subsystems - Participate in system integration, troubleshooting, and validation activities - Collect and interpret technical requirements and provide clear, constructive feedback to engineers across mechanical, software, and systems disciplines - Develop, document, and execute test plans and procedures - Perform basic trade studies and first-order analyses to support design decisions - Document designs to support Design for Manufacturing (DFM), assembly, and testing - Support subassembly design, manufacturing coordination, and test schedules Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution - Hands-on experience with electrical design and development through coursework, labs, internships, senior design projects, or engineering clubs - Familiarity with electrical schematics, basic circuit analysis, and lab equipment - Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as necessary to accomplish our mission - Must work 100% onsite at El Segundo HQ Preferred Qualifications: - Solid foundation in electrical systems design and analysis - Strong problem-solving skills with a curiosity-driven, growth mindset - Ability to apply first-principles thinking to engineering challenges - Self-motivated with strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills - Comfortable working in collaborative, cross-functional engineering teams - Willingness to learn, take ownership of tasks, and grow technical responsibility over time Required Skills: Electrical Engineering, Electrical design, Circuit analysis Important Skills: Test development, Problem-solving Nice-to-Have Skills: Communication skills, Team collaboration, Organizational skills Benefits: Substantial incentive stock plan for all full-time employees., 100% premium coverage for base Silver level plan for employee + 50% premium coverage for dependents.
