Summary: RA Capital Management is a leading provider of capital and services to innovators in the biotechnology sector. The Research Intern will support the company's scientific research efforts by collecting, organizing, and managing large data sets, while gaining exposure to the investment decision-making process in biotechnology. Responsibilities: - Contributing to the company’s scientific research efforts by collecting, streamlining, and organizing detailed data - Gaining exposure to internal and external third-party databases to enable the collection, curation, and management of large data sets to support diverse company initiatives - Reporting to the Research Managers - Experimenting with ways to incorporate AI into work to be more efficient and effective - Collaborating with and learning from professionals in finance, biotechnology, and investment analysis Required Qualifications: - Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in a relevant field (biology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, finance, economics, or related disciplines) - Strong interest in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare industries - Familiarity with scientific literature and ability to critically analyze scientific data - Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (Excel, programming languages are a bonus) and experience leveraging AI in either a project or work-related setting - Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex scientific concepts clearly - Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently as well as in a team Required Skills: Data analysis, Biotechnology knowledge, AI proficiency Important Skills: Scientific literature analysis Benefits: Exposure to real-world projects and hands-on work, Mentorship from experienced professionals, Opportunities for professional development within a collaborative team environment, RA sponsored lunch on designated days, Access to RA-sponsored events, speaker series, and social activities, Participation in wellness and community-focused initiatives
