Job Description
Role & responsibilities
- Manage working capital, cash flow, treasury, receivables, payables, and overall financial health of the business.
- Monitor daily cash position, upcoming payments, collections, fund requirements, and ensure efficient utilization of available funds.
- Track and improve customer collections and outstanding receivables, working closely with Sales and Business teams to reduce overdue amounts.
- Prepare and analyse P&L, cash-flow statements, MIS, business performance reports, and management dashboards to support decision-making.
- Analyse sales, customer profitability, product margins, discounts, pricing, and commercial performance and highlight areas requiring management action.
- Manage inventory finance and working capital, including stock levels, inventory ageing, slow-moving/blocked inventory, purchase requirements, and stock-related cash commitments.
- Review purchase orders, vendor payments, payment schedules, and procurement requirements to ensure proper financial controls.
- Coordinate with Accounts, Sales, Warehouse, Purchase, Collections, and Management to ensure smooth financial and operational execution.
- Establish and monitor financial controls, approval processes, payment controls, reconciliation processes, and reporting systems.
- Identify operational and financial gaps, investigate the root cause, and convert findings into practical action plans.
- Build and improve MIS, dashboards, Excel/Google Sheets models, financial trackers, and business reporting systems.
- Identify repetitive manual processes and work on automation and technology solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Monitor KPIs, budgets, expenses, margins, collections, inventory, and cash conversion and provide actionable insights to management.
- Support management in business planning, forecasting, budgeting, financial analysis, and strategic decision-making.
- Ensure timely closure of financial and operational issues by assigning ownership, setting deadlines, following up, and measuring results.
- Take increasing ownership of Finance & Business Operations with the potential to eventually lead the company's overall financial and operational engine.
