Job Description
Summary: Prysmian is the world’s leading manufacturer of wire and cable, and they are seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to join their team. This internship offers hands-on experience in manufacturing processes, process improvement, and production optimization while contributing to efficiency and quality improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in analyzing and improving manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
- Support the design and implementation of production layouts, tools, and workstations
- Conduct time studies and process evaluations to identify areas for improvement
- Assist in troubleshooting production issues and developing solutions
- Work on automation and lean manufacturing initiatives
- Participate in quality control and assurance processes, including data collection and analysis
- Assist with documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and maintenance departments
Required Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
- Must at least be a Sophomore level to be considered
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and process improvement methodologies
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with different teams
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
