Job Description
The Clinical Data Abstractor is responsible for the review and abstraction of melanoma data from Providence Health & Services' electronic medical records system (EMRS) into a research database. The ideal candidate must be able to read medical reports in the EMRS, find required data, such as demographic, diagnostic, treatment and survival information, and enter data into the research database. The candidate will also help obtain complete follow-up data through direct patient contact, and in some instances, via contact with referring MDs.

Required Qualifications:
- Coursework/Training - cancer registrar.
- 2 years - Experience in reading/interpreting medical records and/or as a cancer registrar, or other relevant experience.
- 2 years - Proficient in medical terminology.
- Experience in reading/interpreting medical records and/or as a cancer registrar.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent educ/experience.
- 1 year - Knowledge of clinical research and ability to abstract information from medical records to support research endpoints.
