Job Description
Summary: Progyny is a global leader in women’s health and family building solutions, and they are seeking a Compensation & Analytics Intern to conduct a structured, enterprise-wide benchmarking and pay transparency readiness analysis. The intern will gain valuable corporate work experience while contributing to meaningful projects and presenting findings to senior leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Learning how compensation strategy supports talent attraction, retention, and equity
- Gain practical experience with compensation data, market pricing, and job architecture
- Have exposure to pay equity methodologies and compliance considerations
- Understand how to translate complex data into clear, actionable business insights
- Conduct compensation market analyses using external survey data and internal benchmarks and ranges to assess competitiveness across roles and job families
- Leverage data from Workday and external compensation tools to analyze pay, job attributes, and employee demographics internally
- Support geographic market evaluations and make recommendations regarding location-based pay practices
- Review job alignment with market data, internal leveling frameworks, and evolving business needs
- Partner with Total Rewards and Business Partner teams to provide compensation data to support career progression frameworks
- Assist with demographic pay parity and broader pay equity analyses using internal data
- Help identify trends, gaps, and potential risk areas, and contribute to data-driven recommendations
- Support cross-functional, ad hoc benchmarking projects as needed
- Build clear, executive-ready summaries and visualizations to communicate findings and insights
- Present project findings, insights, and recommendations to leadership and other stakeholders at the end of the internship
Required Qualifications:
- MBA or Master's degree student in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Business Analytics, Finance, or Labor Economics
- Alternatively, advanced undergraduate in Economics, Data Science, or HR Analytics with demonstrated quantitative strength
- Advanced Excel (pivot tables, modeling, compa-ratio calculations)
- Strong data cleaning and validation capability
- Ability to build executive-ready slide decks
- Understanding of compensation philosophy and benchmarking
- Awareness of pay equity and pay transparency frameworks
- Strong quantitative reasoning
- Comfort handling sensitive and confidential data
- Ability to synthesize complex data into executive-level insights
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior internship in Total Rewards, HR Analytics, Consulting, or Corporate Finance
- Demonstrated experience working with structured datasets
- Experience conducting market or financial analysis
- Exposure to international labor markets
- Experience with statistical analysis
- Familiarity with compensation survey data
