Job Description
Summary: Progyny is a global leader in women’s health and family building solutions, and they are seeking an Accounting Intern to support their financial team. The role involves assisting in the preparation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and collaborating with other departments to gather financial information.
Responsibilities:
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and related footnotes, including Form 10-Q to be filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Maintain compliance with internal controls in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) requirements
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information
- Gain hands-on experience in corporate accounting within a publicly traded company
- Develop skills in financial analysis, reporting, SEC financial reporting, and SOX compliance
- Opportunity to work with experienced professionals and learn from industry experts
- Enhance understanding of financial processes and systems
Required Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
- Strong Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) skills and ability to efficiently work with large volumes of data and pivot tables
- Organized and methodical with strong attention to detail
- Accounting major or equivalent
- Comfortable collaborating with and presenting to executives
- Demonstrated ability to be adaptive and inquisitive; natural problem solver
- Prefers to work independently with clear initial guidance/requests leveraging cross functional resources and teams
- Driven to deliver results with the ability to establish rapport, earn trust, and effectively collaborate with others
- Candidates must be based in the United States
- Candidates must be authorized to work in United States without the need for sponsorship, now or in the future
