QA Technician at Printpack in Jackson, TN

Summary: Printpack is a company seeking a qualified candidate to join their team as a Quality Technician. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that compliant, high-quality products are received, manufactured, and shipped, supporting the Blown-film and Converting operations through quality management systems and documentation. Responsibilities: - Participate as a team player who respectfully communicates, shares knowledge and cooperates with other PPK team members - Provide accurate product testing per established specifications - Prevent all potentially non-conforming material from leaving the facility - Initiate “Hold” tags for Converting and Films non-conforming products - Review job jackets and Specs for accurate information - Gather and enter production data into PRISM system - Maintain, calibrate and troubleshoot lab equipment - Review all samples for visual and physical defects - Provide testing feedback to operating associates - Participate in special testing and compliant investigations - Be actively involved with ISO internal auditing systems - Perform SOC audits daily - Understand and complete accurate work in computer programs (PRISM, Excel, GoAudits) - Basic clerical skills (documentation, filing, data entry supply orders, inventory) - Maintain a clean and safe working area Required Qualifications: - Ability to read, understand and revise manufacturing instructions in English - Functional computer skills (data entry, email, spreadsheets, standard office software) - Ability to use basic office equipment (copier, printer, tablet, etc.) - Ability to learn and perform quality tests using test equipment - Clear understanding of measuring tools and test equipment (tape measure) - Effective Communication skills (written and verbal) - Ability to work other shifts as needed for coverage - Participation in continuous improvement team(s) Preferred Qualifications: - Previous Quality, lab or auditing experience - Ability to make and execute tough decisions in challenging situations - Attention to detail - Organizational skills - Willingness to learn to lead continuous improvement teams - Ability to understand and interpret specifications and apply them to the job - Advanced troubleshooting skills - Willingness and ability to work varied shifts as necessary for shift coverage - Willingness to train others Required Skills: Quality Management Systems, Product Testing, Non-conformance Identification, Job Specification Review, Data Entry, PRISM System, Lab Equipment Calibration, Lab Equipment Troubleshooting, Visual, Physical Defect Inspection, ISO Internal Auditing, SOC Audits, Computer Skills, Excel, GoAudits, Basic Office Equipment Usage, Measuring Tools, Continuous Improvement
