Summary: Princeton University is seeking applicants for a Research Specialist position in the Department of Molecular Biology. The successful candidate will join a laboratory focused on studying host responses to human hepatotropic infections and will perform experiments, particularly in humanized mouse models. Responsibilities: - Specific duties include but are not limited to laboratory rodent care and handling; maintaining and breeding of transgenic mouse colonies; rodent survival surgeries; in vivo luminescence imaging; quantification of pathogen load; tissue culture and lab maintenance work Required Qualifications: - A strong background in science and a bachelor's degree is required - Math and computer proficiency, along with meticulous record keeping is required - Must be highly motivated, highly organized, a team player, able to work independently, and must have excellent written and oral communication skills - The finalist will be required to pass a background check Preferred Qualifications: - Additional in vivo study experience from coursework and/or internships is a plus - Previous experience with animal model systems and/or mammalian tissue culture is preferred but not necessary - A strong background in molecular biology, immunology and/or virology is highly desirable along with the ability to perform advanced mouse work, including colony management, genotyping and rodent surgical procedures - Knowledge of mammalian cell culture and mouse genetics is a plus Required Skills: Laboratory rodent care, Molecular biology, Immunology, Virology Important Skills: Tissue culture, Mouse genetics Nice-to-Have Skills: Record keeping Benefits: Comprehensive benefit program
