Summary: Primus Aerospace is a leading manufacturer of machined components and assemblies for the Aerospace and Defense industries. They are seeking a driven and detail-oriented individual for a full-time co-op position to gain hands-on experience in aerospace component manufacturing, focusing on tight-tolerance machining and lean manufacturing practices. Responsibilities: - Support manufacturing engineers and machinists in optimizing setups - Develop and document manufacturing processes and suggest improvements for efficiency and/or safety - Design, with support, assembly fixtures that can be made in house or 3D printed - Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action efforts - Help implement lean manufacturing initiatives (5S, visual management, waste elimination, scrap reduction, etc.) - Create and update work instructions to meet AS9100 and customer-specific requirements - Collaborate with cross-functional teams in engineering, quality, and operations Required Qualifications: - Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering - Strong initiative and willingness to work on the production floor - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Proficiency with SolidWorks and basic computer applications - Effective problem-solving and time management skills - To adhere to U.S. Government international trade regulations, applicant must be a U.S. Citizen, or lawful permanent resident of the U.S Preferred Qualifications: - Industrial Engineering - Mechanical Engineering - Manufacturing Engineering - Mastercam (not mandatory but a plus) Required Skills: SolidWorks, Mastercam, Lean manufacturing, AS9100 quality systems, Manufacturing process documentation, Root cause analysis, Assembly fixture design Internship Start Date: Start in 2026 Summer
