Summary: Pride Mobility Products Corporation is a company focused on producing innovative mobility solutions. They are seeking a Junior Industrial Designer to collaborate across departments to create product concepts and design solutions that emphasize aesthetics, functionality, and usability. Responsibilities: - Assist with concept generation and evaluation while collaborating with multiple departments - Collaborate daily with Research & Development (R&D) Engineering and Product Management teams to develop new products - Responsible for the aesthetic and ergonomic design of new products - Produce physical models for hands-on evaluation - Produce computer models of concept designs for presentation, prototyping and production - Design production-ready CAD models for various manufacturing methods including injection molding, casting, and carbon fiber processes - Design CAD models for concept evaluation using various rapid prototyping techniques including additive manufacturing - Collaborate on parts engineering by providing input on A-side and B-side geometry - Create sketches, models, renderings and other relevant presentation materials - Proactively conduct consumer research - Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management - Complete the Annual CTPAT Security Training - Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment - Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations - Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary Required Qualifications: - Must be a self-starter, creative team player, friendly, professional, detail-oriented, and honest - Must have the ability to multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment - Must have the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined cross-functional team - Must have the ability to visually communicate concepts through visual thinking, sketching, and rendering - Must have the ability to maintain multiple projects simultaneously - Must have the ability to prepare and build prototypes - Must have the ability to use hand tools, standard power tools and standard measuring devices - Must have the ability to prepare and present to leadership, vendors, and users - Must have the ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed - Must have a relentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvement - Must have proficiency in sketching and clearly communicating ideas visually - Must have basic working knowledge of CAD Surface Modeling with SolidWorks or similar parametric modeling software - Must have basic working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign or similar software - Must have basic working knowledge of 3D rendering in KeyShot, Blender, or similar software - Must have basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with production processes - Must have basic knowledge of industrial design methods - Must have constant and keen awareness of the latest industrial design trends and manufacturing processes and techniques - Must have basic model making/shop skills - Must have basic consumer research skills - Must have excellent time management skills - Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills - Must have basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint - Must have a portfolio of industrial design work - Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, or Associate's Degree in Industrial Design with at least 3 years of industrial design experience - Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now, or in the future Preferred Qualifications: - Intermediate working knowledge of SolidWorks and/or KeyShot preferred - Lift/push/pull 40 lbs. preferred - At least 1 year of design experience in an industrial design or R&D environment supporting design, manufacturing and technical processes preferred - At least 1 year of experience with the specific products preferred - Current or previous successful employment experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferred - Master's Degree in Industrial Design preferred Required Skills: Sketching, Rendering, CAD Surface Modeling, SolidWorks, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, 3D Rendering, KeyShot, Blender, Mechanical Aptitude, Production Processes, Industrial Design Methods, Model Making, Consumer Research, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint
