This is essentially a Capex / Fixed Assets / Project Accounting role with strong exposure to SAP, Ind AS, month-end closure, project accounting, and audit.

1. Role Brief

Role: Capex / Fixed Assets / Project Accounting

The person will be responsible for end-to-end accounting and financial control of capital expenditure (Capex) projects, starting from project purchase orders and invoices through capitalization, asset creation, depreciation, reconciliation, and reporting.

The role will involve close coordination with Project, Procurement, Finance, Accounts Payable, Audit, and Management teams.

Key responsibilities in simple terms

• Track and account for Investment Orders (IOs) and project-related expenditure.
• Monitor Capex budgets vs. actual spending.
• Review open POs and ensure old/unutilized POs are closed.
• Validate project invoices and accounting entries.
• Capitalize assets once projects are completed and assets are ready for use.
• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and ensure appropriate asset tagging.
• Calculate/run depreciation and prepare asset/depreciation reports.
• Perform GL and vendor reconciliations.
• Support month-end/year-end closing.
• Prepare MIS, audit schedules and management reports.
• Ensure compliance with Ind AS, TDS and internal accounting policies.
• Support internal, IFC and statutory audits.
• Provide financial concurrence and tracking support for Capex projects.
