Position Summary:
This is a full-time, entry level position conducting meter readings of gas and electric meters throughout the Central Hudson NYS territory.
Essential Job Functions:
Safely and accurately read electric and gas consumption meters
Inspect meters and connections for defects, damage, and unauthorized connections
Polite and professional interactions with the public and clients
Must have the ability to safely operate a motorized vehicle.
Position Qualifications:
Previous experience working outside
Ability to walk between 1 to 5 miles each day
Enjoy working outdoors in various types of weather and terrain such as wooded, urban and rural areas.
Valid Driver’s License and good driving record
Ability to climb, balance, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, push and/or pull, twist and make repetitive hand movements. Sitting or standing for prolonged period of time required. Complies with all safety rules and regulations set forth by PPS
