Job Description
Summary: Power Integrations is a company focused on innovation in power electronics, and they are seeking an Applications Engineering Intern. The intern will support the Applications Engineering team with testing, debugging, and validation activities, gaining practical exposure to power electronics behavior under the guidance of experienced engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with DER board power-up, testing, and debugging
- Capture and analyze electrical waveforms using lab instruments such as oscilloscopes and probes
- Support surge testing activities, including test setup preparation, execution observation, and result documentation
- Assist with EMC testing, including radiated and conducted emissions pre-compliance testing
- Support ESD testing setup and evaluation to assess board-level robustness
- Help identify anomalies in test results and support root-cause investigation under supervision
- Document test procedures, results, and observations for internal reference and training materials
Required Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of electronic circuits
- 3rd year college undergraduate (or in MS/PhD program) who has completed a basic circuit analysis course
- Field(s) of Study: Electrical Engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong foundational knowledge of electronic circuits
