Are you a Chemical Engineer who enjoys taking a process from the lab to full-scale manufacturing?

Polysciences is looking for a Process Engineer II to join our team in Warrington, PA. This is a hands-on engineering opportunity where you'll work across R&D and manufacturing to scale up new products, troubleshoot production processes, implement new equipment, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

Unlike engineering roles where you're focused on one small piece of a process, this position offers exposure to the full product lifecycle—from early-stage development and scale-up through commercial manufacturing.

What You'll Do

As a Process Engineer II, you'll partner with R&D, Production, Quality, QC, and EHS to turn laboratory processes into safe, reliable and scalable commercial manufacturing processes.

You'll have the opportunity to:

• Support process scale-up and technology transfer from R&D into commercial manufacturing.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing processes and production equipment.
• Identify and implement improvements to manufacturing, cleaning, filling, and packaging processes.
• Specify, procure, install, and qualify new manufacturing equipment.
• Lead continuous improvement and process optimization projects.
• Participate in root-cause investigations for nonconformances and OOS events and help implement effective CAPAs.
• Develop and maintain engineering and manufacturing documentation, including SOPs, batch records, protocols, qualification documents, and technical reports.
• Lead cross-functional implementation of new processes, systems, and equipment.
• Provide technical expertise during customer discussions as projects move from development into manufacturing.

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 2+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing, chemical, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or similar environment.
• Experience working with manufacturing processes and production equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical problems and work collaboratively across multiple departments.

Experience in any of the following is a plus:

• Process scale-up or technology transfer.
• Process optimization.
• Equipment specification, installation, or qualification.
• Cleaning or process validation.
• GMP or ISO-regulated manufacturing.
• CAPA, root-cause analysis, nonconformance, or OOS investigations.
• Manufacturing automation.
• Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.

Qualifications

Education Required: Bachelor's Degree Preferred: Bachelor's Degree

Certification(s): Specify preferred or required.

Computer Skills Required: Specify preferred or required.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel required.

Experience with statistical software such as Minitab, JMP or Stat-Ease preferred.

Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP system and Blue Mountain or similar CMMS preferred.

Other qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, chemical, industrial or mechanical preferred.
• Experience working in an ISO 13485 or FDA GMP environment preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment or similar required.
• Familiarity with process scale-up, optimization, cleaning and validation activities preferred.
• Knowledge of equipment specification, qualification and automation required.
• Expertise with procurement and maintaining production equipment preferred.
• LEAN / Six Sigma certification preferred.
