Position Summary:
The Supply Chain function is responsible for activities related to controlling, scheduling, and managing the flow of production from acquisition of raw materials to distribution of finished product. Areas include purchasing materials, logistics, distribution, inventory management, warehousing, and transportation.
The Central Planning supervisor oversees the purchase order management process for assigned facilities and aids in the management of inbound material transportation schedules from vendors. Ensure proper supply of raw materials to cover production plans. Decides material requirements and coordinates the efficient movement of materials with logistics, purchasing, production, and engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of planning experience in manufacturing or supply chain
1–3 years of supervisory or lead experience
Direct experience with ERP/MRP systems
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication and stakeholder management
Data driven decision making.
Continuous improvement mindset (Lean, Kaizen experience a plus)
Required Qualifications
2- 5 years’ experience in purchasing, planning or materials
Strong interpersonal skills & the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people.
Ability to synthesize large amounts of data quickly and stay calm under pressure.
Strong, quick decision-making skills rooted in data and traceability.
Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining process adherence and high standards.
Strong oral and written communication skills, including intercultural communication.
Knowledge of International Trade Compliance rules and practices
Negotiation skills including conflict management.
Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and Bill of Materials
Must have current PC/software proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite of products.
Four-year college degree with a focus on Supply Chain or related field required
Position Overview:
The central planner supervisor: assists in resolving part shortages effectively and with minimum cost. Serve as escalation point-of-contact for specified production locations when material shortages are imminent. Escalate to other cross functional leaders as required.
Actively manage vendor relationships and on-time delivery performance
Identifies opportunities increase freight utilization, reduce unnecessary material handling, and optimize flexibility for assigned plants.
Provide leadership and direction to Central Planners. Teach, train, and integrate new central planners. Develop and improve central planning tools and standard work.
Reviews planner scorecard to audit if checklist activities are being completed in adherence to Standard Work. Ensure effective use of ERP/MRP and planning tools.
Works well cross functionally with all parts of the organization. Fosters and develop relationships with key sources, materials and logistics contacts.
