Bookkeeper, Family Office (15 Month Contract)
What is the opportunity?
We are looking for a Bookkeeper to cover a 15-month maternity leave for our family office working closely with the principals of two families. The ideal candidate will have hands-on cash management, bookkeeping and accounting experience. Exposure to personal and corporate tax is a bonus.
What Will You Do?
Day-to-day transaction management
Record and reconcile all financial transactions across bank accounts, credit cards, and entities (personal, trusts, corporations).
Account reconciliation & reporting
Perform monthly reconciliations and produce clear, accurate financial reports (cash flow, net worth, income/expense summaries).
Bill pay & cash flow management
Manage accounts payable, schedule payments, track upcoming obligations, and ensure liquidity across accounts.
Multi-entity bookkeeping
Maintain separate books for various entities (holding companies, trusts, investments) while ensuring proper consolidation where needed.
Coordination with advisors
Work closely with accountants, tax advisors, investment managers, and legal professionals to provide clean, timely financial data.
Record keeping & audit readiness
Maintain organized documentation (invoices, statements, contracts) and ensure records are accurate and audit/tax-ready at all times.
What Will You Need to Succeed?
- Relevant accounting/bookkeeping experience: Proven experience managing full-cycle bookkeeping, ideally in a family office, private wealth, or multi-entity environment.
- Discretion & confidentiality: Handling sensitive personal and financial information requires absolute trust and professionalism.
- Strong organizational ability: Ability to manage multiple accounts, entities, deadlines, and document flows without losing clarity.
- Accounting software proficiency: Expertise in tools like QuickBooks, Sage, or similar, plus strong Excel skills for custom reporting.
- Strong internal controls & accuracy mindset: Ability to implement checks, catch inconsistencies, and maintain high data integrity across all records.
- Communication & coordination skills: Ability to liaise effectively with family members and external advisors, translating financial data into clear insights.
