Job Description
Summary: Plante Moran is a leading audit, tax, consulting, and wealth management firm. They are seeking an Outsourced Finance and Accounting Consultant Intern to provide accounting assistance to clients, focusing on various accounting functions and recommending improvements to processes and systems.
Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of accounting functions including, but not limited to:
- Monthly financial close
- Financial account reconciliations
- Financial statement analysis and fluctuation observations and recommendations
- Preparation of balance sheets and income statements
- Preparation of sales/payroll/property tax filings
- Preparation and filing of Forms 1099
- Evaluation of business and accounting processes and procedures
- Recognize and provide recommendations for improvements to accounting processes and systems
- Interact with other practice areas within management consulting and other areas including but not limited to audit, tax, wealth management and management consulting
Required Qualifications:
- Detail-oriented leader with problem solving, communication, critical thinker, organizational, technical and analytical skills
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Academic success (a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0)
Preferred Qualifications:
- On track to complete the requisite degree and supporting credits to sit for the CPA exam, with the goal of successfully obtaining your CPA license
