Job Description
Summary: PineBridge Investments, a MetLife Investment Management company, is seeking a summer intern to join their Insurance Investment Strategy Team. The intern will support various investment analytics projects, including enhancing peer analytics models and performing trend analysis on insurers’ asset allocation.
Responsibilities:
- Play a key role in increasing the efficiency and reliability of an excel-based peer analytics model
- Learn how to extract data from regulatory filings, compile asset allocation trends, and perform liquidity analysis etc
- Use A.I. tools to compile peer study slides and generate investment narratives
- Perform trend analysis on insurers’ asset allocation across asset classes such as private credit, residential mortgages, commercial mortgage loans, infrastructure debt, asset-based finance, CLO, and fund investments
- Generate periodic reports to gather market intelligence across press, rating agency sites, and regulatory jurisdictions
Required Qualifications:
- Strong background in using A.I. coding tools to enhance investment analysis
- Ability to think outside the box, including how to do things more efficiently and adapt internal processes to better support the current peer analytics model
- Strong proficiency in MS Office including Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of S&P Cap IQ is a plus
- Curiosity and willingness to learn the insurance industry and its regulatory framework, including statutory filings, NAIC regulations, and state codes
- Strong written skills with attention to detail. Ability to proofread and validate data reporting and presentations prior to delivering to clients
- Superior data analysis, organization skills, and ability to present technical concepts in a clear manner
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to collaborate effectively with diverse personalities and colleagues both in the office and on the road
- Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university
