Job Description
Summary: Philips is a health technology company dedicated to improving access to quality healthcare. The R&D Intern will assist in research and development activities, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure the safety and quality of medical devices manufactured at the facility.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting in research and development activities associated with new product development and sustaining
- Collaborating with cross-functional team members throughout product development phases to ensure program success
- Making data driven decisions using appropriate analytical methodologies
- Verifying that designs meet functional requirements through the performance of engineering analyses and testing
- Establishing test methods, acceptance criteria, and test equipment for all stages of product development
- Writing test protocols, analyzing data, and documenting findings in test reports
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate (BS) and/or graduate (MS) degree in mechanical, biomedical engineering or a relevant engineering discipline
- Completed at least 75% of studies in bachelor's in mechanical, biomedical engineering or a relevant engineering discipline
- Desire to understand and communicate how product is used, designed and manufactured and establish test methods to evaluate design concepts
- Detail oriented, highly organized and able to communicate information effectively
- Ability to multitask, take ownership, and collaborate cross functionally with others
- Experience using SolidWorks, Excel, and Minitab
- Must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation
