The Head of Strategy & Excellence, PS&Q Regions leads regional transformation and operational excellence, driving measurable improvements across processes, data, systems, and people. Partnering closely with regional leadership teams, the role shapes transformation strategy, prioritizes a portfolio of end-to-end initiatives, and ensures resources, capabilities, and execution plans are aligned to business priorities. The leader improves financial, operational, quality, and customer outcomes through continuous improvement, Agile, project management, and change management practices. The role also builds sustainable organizational capability by establishing best-practice frameworks, leveraging external benchmarks, developing expert networks, and delivering training and certification programs in partnership with Philips University.
Your role:
- Spearheads the formulation of the Transformation strategy for the Regions organization, including establishing KPIs / metrics and prioritizing programs based on technical and strategic criteria (i.e. alignment with organizational strategy).
- Drives tangible performance and E2E capability (Process, system, data, people) improvements, employing advanced methodologies and tools to enhance key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive measurable operational efficiencies.
- Prioritizes and handles a broad portfolio of end-to-end (E2E) transformations and deployment projects, ensuring a comprehensive perspective on all transformation initiatives within the business (unit), region or function.
- Acts as Business Partner for the respective B/R/F Leadership team and wider organization to establish a culture of impact and (execution) excellence, leveraging Excellence practice tools & methodologies (Continuous improvement, Agile, Process Management, Project Management, Change management and Performance Management) and enables B/R/F to drive excellence on a specific functional scope, including setting a level of standardization (e.g. Performance Management system, Process Framework).
- Leverages deep industry expertise and specialized knowledge to improve financial and operational performance, tackling complex challenges across functions, regions, or businesses with innovative and effective solutions leveraging excellence capabilities, provides consultation and facilitates process performance impact tracking & reporting, with reference to internal/external benchmarks and relevant targets.
- Leads Change and moves the organization to outperform customer, regions and internal expectations by improving patient safety & quality, cost, cycle times, delivery and simplifying ways of working.
- Enables and coaches daily management, problem-solving, and facilitates Kaizen events to achieve performance improvement of the top-priority organizational targets as determined by the B/R/F Leadership Team.
- Owns the implementation of short to mid-term strategies and operational direction, ensuring alignment with both team and organizational objectives to drive business excellence.
- Orchestrates an Expert Network, Communities of Practice, Knowledge Assets, and Communication (and Design Reference Groups and Design Reference Group (DRG) and/or Change Control Board (CCB)if required).
- Trains and coaches the organization’s leaders to embrace Lean Leadership as their primary way to lead people, supports the business in their Lean competence development, determining knowledge and competence gaps and providing training as necessary and develops training and certification activities in collaboration with Philips University.
- Leads succession planning and comprehensive talent management, driving employee selection, performance management, compensation management, and career development in alignment with organizational operational goals.
You're the right fit if:
- Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Business Administration, Strategic Management, Organizational Behavior or equivalent
- 11 years of experience with Project Management, Change Management, Operations or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-wide or business-level transformation initiatives that improve financial, operational, and customer outcomes.
- Proven ability to develop transformation strategies, define KPIs, prioritize initiatives, and manage a portfolio of complex end-to-end improvement programs.
- Deep expertise in operational excellence methodologies, including Lean/continuous improvement, Agile, process management, project management, performance management, and change management. Lean certification preferred.
- Strong track record of delivering measurable improvements in quality, patient safety, cost, cycle time, delivery performance, and ways of working.
- Ability to partner credibly with senior leadership teams, influence across functions, and translate strategic priorities into executable operational plans.
- Demonstrated capability in leading organizational change, facilitating problem-solving sessions and Kaizen events, and embedding a culture of execution excellence.
- Proven people leadership experience, including talent selection, coaching, succession planning, performance management, and career development.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to build communities of practice, lead expert networks, and engage diverse stakeholders.
- Experience designing and delivering training, coaching leaders in Lean leadership, and building organizational capability at scale.
- Strong business and financial acumen, with the ability to assess tradeoffs, manage risk, and align resources and budgets to strategic priorities.

How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

Philips Transparency Details
The pay range for this position in Nashville, TN is $195,000 to $312,000
The pay range for this position in Cambridge, MA is $219,000 to $349,440
The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered.
