Summer 2026 IT Internship at Permian Resources in Midland, TX

Summary: Permian Resources is offering internship opportunities to college students to help their career development while advancing the objectives of the company. The intern will assist with a variety of IT and technology-focused functions, gaining hands-on experience and technical guidance throughout the internship. Responsibilities: - Assist with a variety of IT and technology-focused functions, including system support, scripting and automation, hardware and software configuration, troubleshooting, and technical documentation - Support application development, data management initiatives, AI-enabled workflows, cybersecurity efforts, and end-user technical assistance Required Qualifications: - Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer and/or educational institution - Pursuing or have completed a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field - Current level in college: Sophomore through Graduate student - Expected graduation: Spring/Fall 2028 (two summers remaining) - Available for internship start mid-to-late May 2026 - A minimum of 12 continuous weeks of availability for the internship Preferred Qualifications: - Minimum cumulative and major GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (lower GPAs may be considered if extenuating circumstances apply) - Proficiency with Microsoft Office products - Coursework or hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases - Experience or exposure to Python for data analysis, automation, scripting, or application development - Familiarity with basic IT concepts, such as networking, hardware/software troubleshooting, system administration, or cybersecurity fundamentals - Exposure to AI tools, Large Language Models (LLMs), or prompt engineering, including using AI to analyze data, draft documentation, or improve workflows - Familiarity with data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence concepts - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills - Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver results in a performance-driven, team-oriented environment Required Skills: SQL, Python, AI tools Important Skills: Microsoft Office, Data analysis Nice-to-Have Skills: Analytical skills Internship Start Date: Start in 2026 Summer Benefits: Hands-on experience, Training, Field tours, Volunteer and networking opportunities with executives
