Summary: Perdue Farms is a family-owned food and agricultural business focused on premium proteins. They are seeking an Associate Cost Accountant responsible for managing accounting activities for cost centers, ensuring accurate financial reporting, conducting operations analysis, and overseeing invoicing processes. Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain proper accounting procedures and controls for fleet maintenance garages in accordance with GAAP and Company accounting policies and complete the annual audit plan requirements - In accordance with the Company accounting calendar, preparation of monthly closing activities for assigned areas of responsibility. Duties to include inventory control, balance sheet reconciliations, operations reporting, and analysis - Prepares weekly estimates and operating statistics as required. Works with the fleet maintenance management team to develop explanations/comments and action steps for the improvement of costs and controls. Provides detailed analysis to the local management team that supports cost improvement within the facilities - Participate in preparation of annual plan and capital budgets for assigned areas of responsibility - Perform other tasks as assigned Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline - 0-2 years related work experience or 3 years' experience in lieu of a degree - Must possess strong math and analytical skills - Requires strong oral and written communication skills - Knowledge of GAAP - Requires an understanding of systems and software applications and intermediate Excel proficiency Required Skills: GAAP, Accounting procedures, Financial reporting, Operations analysis, Budget preparation, Audit plan, Inventory control, Balance sheet reconciliation, Excel Benefits: Annual bonus available (variable depending on performance)
