Job Description
Summary: Per Scholas is a nonprofit organization dedicated to driving mobility and opportunity in the technology landscape through rigorous tech training. They are seeking a motivated undergraduate college junior or senior for a Professional Development Intern position to collaborate with PD staff and assist in various administrative tasks and events.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with and observe PD staff members in class or during 1:1 meetings with students to learn more about the nonprofit and educational DEI and tech sectors. (As applicable.)
- Participate in Per Scholas PD staff meetings, workshops, career forums, and/or events virtually or in person
- Conduct and assist with processing data in Salesforce, updating learner documents, notes, and completing general administrative tasks as needed
- Assist in planning special events and other occasional projects
Required Qualifications:
- Candidates should be pursuing and enrolled in a BS/BA college program with a major in educational counseling, HR/ DEI related, Learning & Development program, and/ or in another related discipline
- Demonstrates a strong work ethic and is an energetic, motivated, detail-oriented team player who takes initiative and possesses strong communication skills
- Chosen applicants must be able to be on Campus two times a week
- The intern(s) will be expected to work at least 10 hours per week for at least eight to ten weeks
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce/ database management programs, and/ or GSuite is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with various communications platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, MS Teams or other similar programs
- Knowledge of resume and cover letter writing, workforce development programs, and technical instruction is a plus
- Previous experience in assisting the facilitation of DEI, L&D, HR, Communications, and/or related programs is helpful
