Associate InfoSec Analyst

 

The Information Security Analyst 1 monitors computer networks for security issues by implementing and administering security software; builds dashboards for security awareness; investigates security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents; and runs attack simulations, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments as assigned.

 

Monitor for Security Issues
Use industry standard tools to monitor computer networks by building dashboards to maintain visibility of current threats and possible issues. Implement and monitor security event log analysis and dashboards using SIEM tools.

Evaluate the Security Posture
Conduct regular tests and attack simulations to identify areas where the ministry is vulnerable. Discover ways in which ministry systems might be exploited by hackers and viruses. Use penetration testing, red team tools, COTS, and industry standard security tools.

Assess IT Security Policies
Develop and review ministry security policies and ensure that systems adhere to established policies and configuration standards. Educate users through security and awareness training.

Develop Security Practices
Keep current with standard security advisories from vendors, security organizations, and government agencies. Understand current threat attack vectors and TTPs (Tactics, Techniques and Procedures) used by advance attackers and security researchers.

BS - Computer and Information Science

 

Work Experience Required

1+ years in information security
