Job Description
Summary: Penn State University is seeking a Human Resources Assistant to provide outstanding support to the HR Data and Onboarding team. The role involves assisting with onboarding processes, processing HR and payroll forms, and ensuring timely processing in accordance with payroll deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Providing a positive and welcoming onboarding experience to new employees joining the Penn State community
- Assisting new employees with the completion of Form I-9 and other related onboarding requirements in accordance with Federal/State laws and University policies
- Processing human resources and payroll forms in our Human Capital Management system, Workday
- Ensuring timely processing in accordance with payroll deadlines
Required Qualifications:
- General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS)
- No prior relevant work experience required; previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education
- The successful candidate must demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail
- The successful candidate must demonstrate professionalism
- The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
- The successful candidate must demonstrate a high degree of sensitivity in handling confidential information
- The successful candidate will possess strong customer service and communication skills, both oral and written
- The successful candidate will have the ability to effectively learn and utilize new technologies
- The successful candidate will have the ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Office365 suite
