General Assistant – Coppelia House, Moretonhampstead

£12.75 per hour
Full or part time hours available to include alternate weekends

What if your job wasn’t just about cleaning and washing up… but about helping create a place that truly feels like home?

At Peninsula Care Homes, we believe moving into care shouldn’t mean leaving life behind. The comforts, routines and small details that make life feel familiar should still be part of every day.

And many of those details are created by people like you.

A rich life isn’t measured in tasks completed.

It’s measured in the feeling of walking into a bedroom that’s fresh and welcoming. Clean sheets and favourite clothes ready to wear. A dining room prepared for lunch. Quiet spaces that feel calm, comfortable and cared for.

As a General Assistant at Coppelia House, you help create those everyday moments.

Your role supports both the housekeeping and kitchen teams, helping keep the home clean, organised and running smoothly.

You’ll help keep bedrooms, bathrooms and shared spaces clean, comfortable and welcoming. You’ll support laundry services so residents’ clothes and linens are fresh, clean and treated with care.

You’ll also assist in the kitchen as a porter - helping with washing up, keeping areas tidy and supporting meal service so the kitchen can run smoothly during busy mealtimes.

Some days may bring spills, accidents or unexpected messes. When that happens, you’ll respond calmly, discreetly and without judgement - because in our homes,

dignity always comes first.

You’ll help create a peaceful, organised environment where residents can relax and feel at ease, working closely with care, housekeeping and kitchen teams to make sure each day runs smoothly.

We call it our Rich Life Framework.

It’s our promise that moving into care should never mean leaving life behind. Everyone who lives with us deserves days that still feel familiar, meaningful and full of the things they enjoy.

Sometimes that means gardening, music or time with friends. Sometimes it simply means a clean, comfortable room and a home that feels calm and cared for. Your work helps make that possible.

At the end of each shift, we encourage our team to ask one simple question: “Did I help someone live their rich life today?” If that question matters to you, you’ll belong here.

Our CARE values – Committed, Ambitious, Responsible and Embracing – guide how we treat residents, families and each other. You’ll be part of a supportive team that works together, takes pride in every detail and celebrates the difference those details make.
