WAREHOUSE ASSISTANT

About the Role:
The Warehouse Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the warehouse. This position is responsible for assisting the warehouse team with the receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials and equipment, supporting the overall supply chain process. The Warehouse Assistant ensures that inventory is accurately tracked and maintained, facilitating timely availability of materials for construction projects. By operating various warehouse equipment safely and effectively, the role contributes to maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Ultimately, the Warehouse Assistant supports the construction team by ensuring that all materials are handled with care and delivered on schedule to meet project demands.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to perform manual labor including lifting heavy materials safely.
• Basic knowledge of inventory control procedures and warehouse safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in the HVAC industry or related field.
• Valid forklift operator certification or ability to obtain one promptly.
• Proven experience in shipping and receiving within a warehouse environment.
• Proficiency with warehouse management software or inventory tracking systems.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and delivery documents.
• Operate pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, and forklifts to move materials safely within the warehouse.
• Organize and maintain inventory control systems to ensure accurate stock levels and easy retrieval of materials.
• Prepare and package outgoing shipments, ensuring all items are securely loaded and properly documented.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse to comply with safety standards and company policies.
Skills:
The required skills such as shipping and receiving, pallet jack operation, and inventory control are essential for daily tasks like moving materials, verifying shipments, and maintaining accurate stock records. Proficiency with forklifts and electric pallet jacks enables the Warehouse Assistant to handle heavy loads efficiently and safely, reducing downtime and preventing workplace injuries. Manual labor skills are necessary for physically demanding activities including loading, unloading, and organizing materials.
