Job Description
Summary: Pearce is a leading technology-enabled provider of asset management solutions for mission-critical electromechanical infrastructure throughout North America. The Generator Technician is responsible for servicing and repairing commercial generators on cell phone towers, ensuring their readiness and compliance with safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair generators, diagnose problems, install or replace components, and perform maintenance or upgrades on out-of-season equipment
- Conduct performance checks and regular maintenance to ensure generator readiness, following blueprints or design specifications for installation or repair
- Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring, controls, and other components, testing for proper operation
- Respond promptly to Power/Generator alarms, be on call 24/7 if necessary, and promptly answer assigned phone and email communications
- Perform work with awareness of all potential hazards, using safety equipment and practices; attend and participate in all designated safety and training meetings
Required Qualifications:
- Two or more years of experience in generator maintenance is preferred, with a minimum of one year of intense work-related experience in generator and electrical maintenance
- Thorough knowledge of generator installations, maintenance, and repair; knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components; moderate computer skills
- Basic knowledge of pertinent FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations
- Ability to comply with OSHA standards, including the ability to lift over 50 pounds, stoop, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and stand for extended periods
- Willingness and ability to drive long distances, work various hours, and assume 24-hour on-call duty when assigned
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical
