Job Description
Summary: Pearce Services is a leading technology-enabled provider of asset management solutions for mission-critical electromechanical infrastructure throughout North America. They are seeking a skilled Generator Technician to service and repair commercial generators on cell phone towers, requiring travel and a commitment to safety and maintenance standards.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain generators, diagnose and repair problems, install and replace components or entire systems, and perform additional maintenance or upgrades on out-of-season equipment
- Conduct performance checks and regular maintenance on generators to ensure proper readiness, reading and following blueprints or other design specifications to install or repair
- Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring and controls, and other components, and test for proper operation
- Respond promptly to Power/Generator alarms and be available for on-call duties 24/7 if necessary
- Perform work with awareness of all potential hazards, including falls, electric shock, and traffic; use safety equipment and practices; attend safety and training meetings
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year of intense work-related experience with generator and electrical maintenance-related software, hardware, and processes
- Thorough knowledge of generator installations, maintenance, and repair
- Knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components
- Moderate computer skills
- Basic knowledge of pertinent FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations
- Ability to comply with OSHA Standards and pass a DOT physical
- Ability to lift over 50 pounds, stoop, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and stand for long periods
- Willingness and ability to drive long distances, work various hours including overtime, and assume 24-hour on-call duty when required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two or more years of experience with generator maintenance
- Electrical experience preferred
