Mechanical Design Intern (Fall 2026) at Peak Energy in Burlingame, CA

Summary: Peak Energy is looking for a Mechanical Design Intern to join their Energy Storage Systems team. The intern will support mechanical system and component design for utility scale sodium-ion energy storage systems and work collaboratively with various teams to realize their designs. Responsibilities: - Focus on design areas of need, which may include: module enclosure, adhesives, plastic component design, high current conductors, communications harnessing - Interface tightly with partners such as thermal and structural analysts and other design functions to inform design decisions - Drive and participate in a culture of rapid prototyping and testing - Support validation of Peak products from concept through field deployment - Ensure a smooth transition from maturing product to mass production - A great team spirit and get-it-done attitude.
