Key Responsibilities
Azure Cloud Administration
- Provision, configure and support Azure virtual machines, managed disks, snapshots, availability options and VM extensions.
- Administer virtual networks, subnets, network security groups, route tables, public IPs, load balancers and private connectivity under approved designs.
- Operate storage accounts, Azure Backup, recovery services, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, alerts and Update Manager; investigate failures and capacity concerns.
- Perform identity and access tasks using Microsoft Entra ID and Azure RBAC, following least-privilege and separation-of-duties requirements.
Windows Server & Core Infrastructure
- Install, configure, harden and troubleshoot supported Windows Server environments, including roles, services, event logs and performance bottlenecks.
- Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, file services, IIS, certificates and scheduled tasks within delegated authority.
- Support Hyper-V and Windows failover-clustering operations at L2 level, including health checks, VM lifecycle tasks and escalation-ready diagnostics.
- Execute monthly patching, vulnerability remediation, service restarts and post-change validation with documented rollback plans.
Service Operations & Reliability
- Own assigned incidents and service requests through diagnosis, restoration, communication and closure; participate in major-incident bridges when required.
- Perform health, backup and capacity checks; proactively raise service risks and maintain SOPs, knowledge articles, configuration records and shift-handover notes.
- Coordinate with application, database, network, security, OEM and cloud-support teams for cross-domain troubleshooting and permanent resolution.

- Minimum four years of relevant experience in Windows infrastructure administration, including substantial hands-on exposure to Microsoft Azure operations.
- Demonstrated experience resolving L2 incidents independently and collecting diagnostic evidence for L3, Microsoft or OEM escalation.
- Relevant Microsoft Azure and/or Windows Server certification is preferred; equivalent demonstrable capability will be considered.
Behavioural Competencies
- Strong analytical troubleshooting, ownership and prioritisation under service-impacting conditions.
- Clear written and verbal communication with technical teams, service managers and customer stakeholders.
- Process discipline, attention to detail, security awareness and willingness to learn new cloud services and tools.
- Collaborative approach, reliable shift handover and readiness to coach L1 engineers on repeatable operational tasks.
Measures of Success
