Job Description
Summary: PBS is a non-profit media organization that produces multiplatform content. The PMO Intern will assist with production management and operations, focusing on project management, production logistics, and financial oversight while supporting the Senior Director in various tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Support the ongoing buildout and optimization of the inter-departmental project management platform (hosted on monday.com); help to ensure cross-department visibility and workflow alignment
- In collaboration with cross-department stakeholders, work on specialty assignments, including but not limited to the reboot and rollout of essential producer support materials
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve documentation across systems
- Shadow the review and evaluation of producer proposals to ensure alignment with PBS’s editorial, strategic, and financial goals
- Coordinate with internal business units to determine work scope on a project-by-project basis
- In partnership with assigned Manager, help move assigned projects through cross-department meetings and systems, and onwards towards contracting
- Shadow consultation work with internal constituents to help tailor specific project requirements
- Assist with the analysis of producer assumptions, production budgets, funding plans, staffing and production schedules, and production financial cash flows
- Support the creation of payment schedules and content deliverable documents as they relate to agreed editorial proposals
- Assist in identifying, tracking, and communicating funder sources
- Help prepare and finalize internally approved production exhibits for contract
- Assist with new vendor setup
- In collaboration with Programming, helps to organize project 'kick-off' and 'check-in' meetings with internal and external production partners
- Manage and update funder revenue data within PBS systems, helping to generate reports and supporting funder compliance documentation
- Track cross-department milestone completion and collaborate with PMO Assistant Directors to initiate payment authorizations
Required Qualifications:
- Some previous exposure to content production logistics; production budgets and schedules
- Seeking or completed a BS/BA in Film/TV/Digital Production – or – equivalent education exposure and experience
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail

- Good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Very important
- Microsoft 365 with Excel, Word, OneDrive/SharePoint, and PowerPoint experience good to have
- Experience with data management, analysis, and reporting
- Data visualization experience a plus
- Knowledge of Project Management tools (Monday.com, or similar), AI tools (CoPilot, ChatGPT, Claude, etc), and Presentation Tools like Canva nice to have
- Ability to work with and maintain confidential information
