Summary: Patel, Greene & Associates (PGA) is seeking a motivated and curious Structures Engineer Intern. This position offers an opportunity for college graduates to contribute to the innovative design of transportation infrastructure while gaining hands-on experience with engineering software and technical documentation. Responsibilities: - Understand the concepts of geometry design - Understand the development of pay item quantities and calculations - Understand the process for development of a project cost estimate - Effectively research projects and assist with marketing efforts from a roadway point-of-view - Gain proficiency in technical writing - Gain proficiency in all design standards, manuals, and criteria - Gain proficiency in the use of MicroStation or AutoCAD, including civil platforms (such as OpenRoads Designer, Civil3D, etc.) - Requires moderate technical supervision of tasks by senior staff - Complete tasks and projects within expectations of Project Manager, Supervisor or Task Lead Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent from an ABET Accredited University, majoring in Civil or Environmental Engineering - 0-4 years of post-graduation experience - Engineering Intern (EI) certificate or ability to obtain within 1 year - Strong communication and organizational skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools - Working knowledge of CADD systems Required Skills: Engineering Intern (EI) license, CADD systems knowledge, MicroStation, AutoCAD Important Skills: Microsoft Office proficiency
