Job Description
Summary: Parsons Corporation is a leader in developing innovative solutions for the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community. They are seeking a Space Ops Software/ML Engineer Intern to support their Advanced Technologies team in building software tools and analytics for DoD space operators, leveraging AI/ML and data science.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Space Ops Advanced Technologies team which builds cutting edge software tools and analytics for DoD space operators and analysts
Required Qualifications:
- Must be pursuing a degree in computer science or related field (e.g., Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Sciences)
- Completed at least two years of an undergraduate curriculum and maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience developing software applications in Java
- Must be comfortable taking the initiative to learn new tools and concepts quickly
- Good interpersonal and communication skills in spoken English
- Must be a US Citizen
- The ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership ability through community or campus involvement. Candidates are expected to possess a positive team-first attitude, a willingness to learn, and strong initiative
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiar with object-oriented software design fundamentals using Java, C++, C#
- Experience with Python programming language
- Experience with agile software development techniques
- Experience with IDE tools such as VS Code, IntelliJ, Eclipse
- Knowledge of CM tools such as Git
