Landscape Design Intern at Pape-Dawson in Franklin, TN

Summary: Pape-Dawson is seeking a paid Landscape Design Intern to join their Landscape Architecture group in Franklin, TN. This internship focuses on learning Landscape Architecture within a multi-disciplinary firm while working on various projects such as master-planned communities and parks. Responsibilities: - Assist in the preparation of design concepts, schematic design, cost estimates, and code analysis and presentation as assigned - Develop design concepts by hand graphics and computer graphic programs, including SketchUp, Lumion, AutoCAD, and Adobe Suite - Maintain project communications and information - Prepare designs previously originated or refine and develop sketches provided by others - Learn to read and understand construction drawings, digital mapping, and other related documentation - Additional related duties as needed Required Qualifications: - Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field from an accredited program - Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office suite - Interest or foundational experience in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite - Knowledge of construction techniques, plant materials, and sustainable design practices is a plus - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Effective communication skills, both written and verbal - A portfolio or work samples must be submitted in order to be considered Required Skills: Landscape Architecture, AutoCAD, SketchUp Important Skills: Adobe Creative Suite, Construction techniques, Sustainable design practices Nice-to-Have Skills: Microsoft Office, Analytical skills
