Job Description
Summary: Palo Alto Networks is dedicated to protecting the digital way of life and is seeking an Intern for UX Design within their Unit 42 team. The role involves defining and designing new features, collaborating with a small team, and enhancing user experience through visual and interaction designs.
Responsibilities:
- Help define, design and shepherd new features on the Unit 42 Arcade platform under the guidance of design leadership
- Collaborate with a very small founding team of designers and engineers to support the growth of Unit 42 offerings across incident response, proactive services, threat intelligence research and AI
- Assess and challenge the existing user experience, focusing on visual and interaction designs, and create new ideas for future experience enhancements
- Contribute to and refine the existing design system to ensure consistency, streamline component building, and maintain comprehensive documentation
- Create storyboards, wireframes, prototypes, visual mockups, and style guides to support a rich user experience
Required Qualifications:
- Skilled in creating personas, user journeys, storyboards, and user flows to inform and guide design decisions
- Adept at quick design iterations based on user feedback and research to continuously improve product experience
- Strong documentation skills and the ability to present design work effectively to cross-functional teams, including product and engineering
- Solid understanding of accessibility standards, responsive design, and development processes, ensuring designs are inclusive and technically feasible
- A portfolio that demonstrates expertise in typography, color theory, layout design, and meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design rationale and collaborate with stakeholders
- A portfolio showcasing strong user-centered design, research processes, usability principles, and web-based UX/UI examples
- Experience creating pixel-perfect mockups and interactive prototypes
- Proficiency in Figma and other prototyping tools
