Job Description
Summary: Palo Alto Networks is a leading cybersecurity company dedicated to protecting the digital way of life. They are seeking an entry-level Intern for the Technical Business Intelligence team to gain hands-on experience in data analytics and contribute to meaningful data projects within the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Gather, organize, and analyze operational data to create and update reports and analytical dashboards (utilizing tools such as Google Sheets, Tableau, or Looker Studio) to support data-driven decisions
- Contribute to identifying operational inefficiencies and documenting business processes, aiming to improve efficiency through basic scripting (e.g., SQL, Python) or automation solutions
- Assist with special projects and collaborate cross-functionally to help ensure data integrity and support data governance best practices
- Prepare and communicate data findings, metrics, and project updates clearly to stakeholders
- Support meeting coordination, including preparing agendas and notes, to facilitate effective teamwork within the Technical Business Intelligence group
- Utilize tools, including AI, to increase efficiency in data processing and daily operational tasks
- Assist with day-to-day data tasks, addressing basic tool access issues, and providing valuable support to allow senior technical operations analysts to focus on strategic objectives
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program, preferably pursuing a major in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business, or a related quantitative field
- Strong Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Possesses quantitative/qualitative abilities, a data-driven mindset with attention to detail, and intellectual curiosity to structure complex data problems and translate raw information into actionable insights
- Technical Aptitude: Basic exposure to or a strong willingness to learn data visualization and analysis tools (such as SQL, Python, Google Sheets/Excel, Tableau, or GCP BigQuery)
- Proactive & Results-Oriented: A highly motivated self-starter with strong organizational and excellent time management skills, adept at managing simultaneous projects and deadlines within a fast-paced, matrixed environment to influence the business
- Effective Communicator & Tech-Savvy: Communicates clearly, seeks understanding before creating recommendations, and demonstrates proficiency using tools like Google Suite and AI/LLMs in daily tasks
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- You must have the authorization to work within the United States. Please note that we will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position
- Requirements – To apply, you must be pursuing a 4-year Undergraduate Degree with a GPA of 3.0 or above, a 2-year Master's Degree or a Doctorate degree and returning to school in the fall
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior knowledge of cyber security is a plus
