Job Description
Summary: Palmetto Citizens Federal Credit Union is seeking an Information Technology Intern to participate in a structured rotational program across Cybersecurity, Help Desk, and Infrastructure teams. The intern will assist with daily IT operations while gaining practical experience in system support, cybersecurity, and infrastructure management.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with monitoring security tools, alerts, and dashboards under supervision
- Participate in vulnerability scanning, patch validation, and security documentation
- Reinforce cybersecurity awareness and safe computing practices across the organization
- Support documentation for audits, examinations, and internal controls
- Follow Cybersecurity playbooks for alerts and assist in creating new playbooks for different events
- Provide first-level technical support to associates, troubleshooting hardware, software, and access issues
- Monitor the Credit Union ATM network and escalate issues to vendors as needed
- Accurately document incidents and service requests in the ticketing system
- Follow escalation procedures to ensure timely resolution and minimal service disruption
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure consistent access provisioning
- Assist with deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management of desktops, laptops, and peripherals
- Support standard operating systems, business applications, and secure endpoint tools
- Maintain asset inventories and support standardized technology builds
- Assist with infrastructure activities, including patching, server maintenance, and solution engineering
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, and classified as a junior or senior
- Foundational understanding of computer systems, operating systems, and troubleshooting concepts
- Strong customer service mindset and professional communication skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to following defined processes
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities
