Job Description
Summary: OxEon Energy is seeking a highly motivated Quality Engineering Intern to support the procurement and quality processes for both space and terrestrial hardware. This role involves coordinating the procurement workflow and ensuring compliance with quality requirements while maintaining accurate documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Support Supply Chain by coordinating the procurement process from engineering Bill of Material (BOM) release through material approval for fabrication
- Review engineering BOMs, drawings, specifications, and purchase requests for completeness and accuracy prior to procurement
- Coordinate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to ensure materials meet project schedules and technical requirements and effective revision control
- Verify supplier documentation, certifications, traceability records, and compliance with AS9100D quality requirements
- Track procurement status and proactively communicate material availability, shortages, and risks to project teams
- Review received materials and documentation to ensure all quality requirements have been satisfied before releasing materials to production
- Maintain accurate procurement, inspection, and quality records within company systems
- Assist in identifying and resolving documentation discrepancies, supplier quality issues, and nonconforming materials
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline procurement and quality workflows
- Support internal and external quality audits by organizing and maintaining required documentation
- Work closely with engineering teams to ensure design intent is effectively translated into procurement specifications
- Perform additional quality engineering and project support activities as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of study towards a relevant degree – Quality Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly
- Self-motivated with the ability to collaborate in a team environment
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple efforts simultaneously
- Effective communication across multi-disciplinary teams
- Ability to execute defined processes accurately
- Understanding that precision in documentation is critical to delivering high-quality products
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous work in a manufacturing environment
