Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting principles, and excellent organizational abilities. This role will be responsible for supporting financial operations, preparing reports, and ensuring accuracy in all financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain financial records, reports, and general ledgers.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Reconcile accounts, resolve discrepancies, and prepare journal entries.
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure timely deposits.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
- Prepare tax filings and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Work closely with auditors to provide necessary documentation and reports.
- Provide support for payroll processing and benefits administration as needed.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights for decision-making.
- Attend and present at local events to engage with the community.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation preferred.
- Proficiency in using accounting software (e.g., Quickbooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Possess excellent customer service skills, to be able to interact with clients & team members through video tools and in-person in a professional, friendly, and confident manner.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- CPA license or working toward certification.
- Familiarity with financial reporting software.
- Experience with budgeting, tax filings, and financial analysis.
